J. Travis Griffin is the managing partner of Hogue Griffin. Travis is a 2012 graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where he also received the Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting. Through working with the firm as a student law clerk, Travis discovered the personal and professional rewards of working with those who find themselves the subject of criminal prosecution. Travis is devoted to criminal defense and proud to stand beside his clients in court.

Travis is a native of the Atlanta area, growing up in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Travis attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he majored in Philosophy with a minor in Classical Studies. While at Oglethorpe, Travis served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Pledge Educator of the Rho Delta Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity. Travis was involved in the Oglethorpe University Playmakers, University Singers, and University Chorale. Travis was Oglethorpe Actor of the Year in 2006 and Male Singer of the Year in both 2005 and 2006. Travis graduated from Oglethorpe, cum laude, in 2006. While in law school, Travis was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, serving as Treasurer for two years. Travis graduated from Mercer Law in 2012.

After graduating from Mercer Law, Travis began his practice as an associate attorney at Hogue & Hogue. In 2017, Travis was elevated to partner, starting the firm of Hogue Hogue Fitzgerald & Griffin. Travis became managing partner of the revamped Hogue Griffin in 2022.

Travis is a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Georgia and Macon Bar Associations. He practices in Federal and State courts all over Georgia. Travis has represented clients at trial charged with offenses from marijuana possession to murder. Travis is also a graduate of the William “Bill” Daniel Trial Advocacy program.

Travis lives in Macon with his wife and two children.
